FW Power Generators was called upon to supply a permanent standby power solution for a leading newspaper printing company in Merseyside. The project brought together generator supply, transport and site coordination, with a short-notice changeover from an existing temporary hire generator.
The challenge: replacing temporary power at a newspaper printing facility
The site was already being supported by a hire generator while a permanent solution was arranged. Replacing that machine required coordination between the customer, FW Power and the companies supporting the changeover.
There was little room for delay. The new generator needed to reach the site, be positioned and take the place of the temporary machine quickly and efficiently. For a printing operation working to demanding deadlines, the logistics of that transition mattered just as much as the equipment itself.

We supplied a 220 kVA Blackwell diesel generator powered by Cummins, giving the customer a robust, long-term standby power solution. The permanent machine was supplied to support the facility when needed, replacing its temporary hire arrangement.
