All too often sites become redundant and companies are often left with the mammoth task of getting rid of unwanted items. Generators usually fall into the unwanted category. Due to the size of generators and often where the generators are situated, it can prove to be a bit of a headache for people just wanting to clear the site. That’s where FW Power comes in. 1: Recently we were tasked with removing 2 x 1000 kVA Synchronised generators, both in 40 ft containers – joined together, along with switchgear and fuel tanks. We attended site in Warwickshire several times to disconnect, size up for lifting onto transport and then finally to remove from site.
2: A data centre in Birkenhead had become redundant and FW Power were tasked with removing the two generators that were on site. A 900 kVA CAT containerised generator which was outdoors and a 700 kVA Open Skid Perkins generator that was situated indoors in a plant room along with fuel tanks. Again this removal required several visits to disconnect, size up and ensure that we could remove the generators and fuel tanks and load onto transport. A big removal that we are proud to say we executed without a single glitch.
