Practical diagnosis when a generator has a fault
FW Power supports diesel generator owners with fault finding, diagnostics and repairs. Whether a set fails to start, shuts down, raises an alarm or does not accept the required load, the first step is to understand the symptoms and the equipment involved.
Help us assess the problem
Send the generator make, model, kVA, controller type, site location and the exact alarm message. Photographs of the nameplate and controller can help identify the machine. Tell us when the fault occurs and whether any recent servicing, electrical work or operating changes preceded it.
Site visits and workshop repairs
Some faults can be assessed on site, while more involved work may need workshop inspection. We explain the proposed diagnostic work and, where possible, the repair options once the problem is understood. Parts availability and access to the equipment affect the timing of the repair.
Support for generators you already own
Our service support is available for generators supplied by FW Power and equipment purchased elsewhere. Ask about a maintenance contract or a load bank test if recurring faults or uncertain standby performance are causing concern. Response arrangements are agreed when you book; no automatic attendance time is implied.
